How to download and install Garmin Express
The normal setup takes only a few steps. Leave the Garmin device disconnected until the application is installed, then use a reliable data-capable USB cable when Garmin Express asks you to add a device.

Choose Windows or Mac

Open the installer
Run GarminExpress.exe on Windows or open GarminExpress.dmg and follow the Mac installation prompt. Approve the normal operating-system permission request when it appears.

Open the installed application. Sign in only when a task needs your Garmin account; downloading the desktop installer itself does not require an account on this site.

Choose the right Garmin Express download
The right Garmin Express download for your device is determined by the computer that will manage it. Choose the Windows installer for a PC running Windows 10 or Windows 11. Choose the Mac installer for a computer running macOS 13 or newer. Both buttons on this page lead to Garmin's download host, but the EXE and DMG cannot be used interchangeably.
Before starting the Garmin Express download for your computer, confirm that it has a stable high-speed connection, a working USB data port and enough storage for the task. Garmin recommends allowing up to 20 GB for map operations even though the installer files are smaller. Keep a laptop connected to power and do not let it sleep during a long map or device-software update.
Use an older Garmin Express download for a computer only when its operating system cannot run the current application. Garmin provides specific legacy files for older Windows and Mac systems; an unofficial archive is not the same as an official fallback. If the intended task is activity or health synchronization on a phone, use Garmin Connect instead of looking for a mobile Garmin Express installer.

Yes. Garmin currently states Windows 10 or newer, so Windows 11 is included. The installer also includes the required Microsoft .NET 4.7.2 component listed by Garmin.
Can I download Garmin Express on an iPhone or iPad?
No. Garmin Express is not an iOS application. It runs on supported Windows and Mac computers. For an iPhone or iPad, Garmin normally directs users to the Garmin Connect mobile app for supported device and activity workflows.
Are these Garmin Express installers hosted by this website?

What Windows files are needed to install Garmin Express?

It can detect and manage many compatible devices, but update availability depends on the exact model, map entitlement, connection and Garmin support status. Connect the device and let Express report what is available rather than assuming every older model receives a new map.
Is Garmin Express the same as Garmin Connect?
No. Garmin Express is the Windows and Mac desktop manager used for device maintenance. Garmin Connect is the web and mobile platform centered on activities, health, fitness data and connected-device services.
